Q3 Project 3: Systems of Systems
July ’25 Updates
Project Leads: Patrick Singleton, Utah State University, & Sivaranjani Seetharaman, Purdue University

Events:
International Conference on Transportation & Development
This June 8-11, the International Conference on Transportation & Development was hosted by ASCE and the Arizona Department of Transportation. At this international event, which was held in Glendale, Arizona, ASPIRE Student Leadership Council President Fariba Soltani presented her and ASPIRE faculty member Patrick Singleton’s research entitled “EV Adoption and Use in Rural and Urban Utah”.

Tools & Technology Developments:
In addition to identifying external funding sources and developing proposals, key accomplishments this quarter include the added design to EV load scenarios for Utah. These scenarios create a computational pipeline that can then be replicated for other states.
Other successes include the downloading and cleaning of input data crucial for the health impact assessment. A data visualization pipeline, in addition to the dollar amount for health quantification, was added. The team also finished memo documenting the necessary tools, elements, and data to advance transportation system integrated modeling.
