Abstract:

As USU’s Electrified Transportation Planning Team looked ahead to deploying technical pilot projects near Utah population centers, the team prioritized local community engagement for purposes of trust-building and dialogue. Our poster will highlight participatory community research designed to build from local knowledge, operate through local partnerships, refine
responsive approaches, and disseminate results within the community. In continuing responsiveness, the team has developed and disseminated a relevant resource booklet and is currently supporting two local community organizations as they stand up a collaborative model of career training, coupled with childcare, to open low-barrier pathways into electrified transportation-related careers.
