| Abstract: | For “Powering Your Future: ASA Engineering Day,” the USU ASA invited local students in the 7th – 12th grades to come to the EVR for a morning of fun and educational engineering demonstrations and activities. The program started with taking the participants on a tour of the EVR. Next, students assembled small solar cars, made electromagnetic nails, learned about our usual STEM Fair activities, played with the flight and driving simulators set up by the ASA computer science students, and went for a ride around the EVR track in the Class 6 truck. The event ended with lunch and a speaker panel of four students who currently work or have worked for ASPIRE. Ten USU ASA volunteers put on the event. Nineteen 7th-12th grade students participated in the event. |
