Hector Cruz

Biography

Hector is a Doctoral student majoring in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He is part of the transportation thrust in ASPIRE and currently serves as the Treasurer of the Student Leadership Council (SLC) and the President of the ASPIRE Student Association (ASA) UTEP chapter. For his research studies, he analyzes electrified pavements using finite element analysis software to determine the estimated life of these roads based on typical pavement failure types. In December 2019, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, and two years later, he completed his Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering in May 2021, both from UTEP.
