Awards, Publications, and Successes

Congrats to all of our students, faculty, and staff for their recent achievements over this past month! Here are a few to note:

A big shoutout to Amanda Katz, who was named as a 2025-26 Fulbright Scholar. This prestigious, highly competitive international exchange program is administered by the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. Katz travelled to the University of Crete in Greece, where she worked on her project entitled “Road Scholars: Teaching, Learning and Researching the History of Science and Technology in Greece”.

Congratulations to Masood Parvania, who was promoted to Full Professor and received the title of Roger P. Webb Endowed Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Utah!

Shout-out to Mahyar Saheli, Patrick Singleton, and Antje Graul for their hard work in getting their ASPIRE-funded paper published in the journal Travel Behavior & Society.

Congratulations to Anca Matcovschi for receiving the People’s Choice Award at the Association for Communication Excellence 2025 Annual Conference held on June 16 in Milwaukee, Winsconsin.

With the help of her co-author Dr. Kelsey Hall, Matcovschi presented her research entitled “Framing Analysis of Electrified Transportation Infrastructure in the U.S.”

A new technology is now available for licensing!

ASPIRE researchers Mohamed Kamel, Regan Zane, and Dragan Maksimovic have invented an advanced method of controlling DC-DC power converters that ensures stable operation during both charging and discharging. Congratulations on this impressive accomplishment!
