Abstract: | Union representatives first toured ASPIRE’s EVR facility, then participated in focus discussions with ASPIRE’s EWD team. The purpose of focus discussions was to understand career pathways and experiences of skilled laborer and trades persons within the Electrification and Transportation Systems (ETS) engineering workforce. Topic strands included pathways to current occupation, training needs (e.g. safety) as it related to ETS technologies, connecting engineering and union organizations, and improving ETS career pathways for persons located in low SES geographic areas. |
