What is ASPIRE?
Headquartered at Utah State University, ASPIRE is the nation’s only National Science Foundation-sponsored Engineering Research Center of its kind, developing cutting edge technologies for the wireless charging and smart grid management of electrified transportation systems. Our mission is to catalyze practical transitions to widespread electrification, enhance quality of life, and foster economic growth through innovation and workforce development. ASPIRE has demonstrated expertise in developing, implementing, and managing a range of electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure projects and fostering strong partnerships across the EV charging ecosystem. The center integrates multidisciplinary expertise across electrical, civil, and mechanical engineering, as well as economics, marketing, and policy. In 2023, ASPIRE was designated the lead institution in defining a 30-year vision and action plan guiding the development of Utah’s intelligent electrified transportation system.
